I am so looking forward to paying a visit lunchtime Christmas eve for a drop of real ale and natter. Living in Dubai deprives me of my real ale, air conditioned pubs with freezing cold keg bitter just dont get anywhere near. Hope you have a Christmas ale!

I have memories of living here when i was a little girl(this was in the 70's), i have photos of me in the courtyard. I now live in the USA so it's nice that i can show my kids part of my childhood. Thanks

We really love this pub - lovely beer, great atmosphere and comfortable. The garden is my favourite place to sup in the summer - I always spot another fascinating piece of décor that I'd not previously seen. So much better than the usual worn and fag-butt strewn chunk of grass that is most pubs' garden. In the winter the seating inside is warm and comfy. If it was me I'd not have a speaker in the little room to the left as you come in - its such a perfect spot for a quite beer and a chat. That said the music is often very interesting. Easily the best pub in Ely! Keep up the good work - Bill + Drew

Beautiful pub, clean, well run, friendly. Garden is a delight and a pleasure to sit in - even for a non-smoker. If more pubs were like this I am certain the pub trade would not be in its current state. Well done my wife and I look forward to our next visit. Regards Tony Walsh
